This system has been developed to
automate many of the routine and repetitive data management tasks necessary to
run an SCCA track event. The objective is to decrease the time allocated to
these tasks while increasing the accuracy and timeliness of the process. It is
a fully networked technology including internet and LAN. The morbidly curious
can click here to view a "data
flowchart" of the system in its current state.
Four years of
development preceded full reliance on this system for the 2004 season by the
Atlanta & North Carolina Regions. Several other Regions participated to
lesser degrees and the system was used for the 2003 & 2004 SCCA Club Racing
National Runoffs at mid-Ohio.
This is now available as a
turnkey application as well as in its usual
form. Features include online credit card processing, real time data
integration, and "folderless" registration. Sign up for the email list below to
receive information on demo CDs, open source packages, etc. A new online Demo
area is planned in the near future and will be announced when ready.
Express Registration works! Simplify your Registrars
life with this system... reduced preparation time, no individual folders
needed, reduced time in line, MORE FUN!
Click here to see an example on our
companion server (TaxTriage.com).
All announcements will be made
through the email list. You can remove yourself at any time so don't be
skittish! This technology is dedicated to be a permanent "work in process"
under the stone soup¹ methodology.

¹Stone
Soup Once upon a time, a weary traveler found nightfall approaching
and himself with no food to prepare for his meal. Being observant,
he noticed that none of the few other travellers camping nearby seemed
enthusiastic about their own meager rations so he built a fire, filled his
kettle with water from a stream, and set it out to boil. After the
steam began to rise, he dropped a stone into the bubbling vessel and sat as
though anxiously awaiting a fine meal. Soon one of the other
travelers aproached, curious to see what could be cooking that created such
enthusiasm. Without explanation, it was stated that a pot of delicious
"Stone Soup" was being prepared but that it would be shared with any who
contributed to the pot as it cooked. Soon a few potatoes were
added, then a turnip, some fragrant herbs... the enthusiasm was infectious and
before long there was a gathering of gifted participants around the friendly
pot. The host announced that the stone had yielded all of its magic
and removed it from the pot. They all enjoyed a fine meal that
night and although no one could quite remember exactly why that stone was so
special, they all agreed that "Stone Soup" improved with every
contribution. |
